A message from the Past Grand Master, Most Worshipful Bro Viorel Danacu

Viorel Danacu

The National Grand Lodge of Romania is an autonomous Obedience, self governed, universally acknowledged for all its Lodges and all the Freemasons recognized by it, on the entire territory of Romania.

The National Grand Lodge of Romania was regularly constituted from three regularly constituted Lodges, receiving the Light from Grand Regular Lodges universally acknowledged and continues the Masonic tradition through the historical Masonic act from Brasov, April 13th-14th 6002, through us and the illustrious Brother Grand Master Ad Vitam Nicu Filip, the founder of regular contemporary Freemasonry of Ancient and accepted Scottish Rite on the territory of Romania.

The National Grand Lodge of Romania and the Lodges under its Obedience not entertain any Masonic relationship or of another nature with mix Lodges or structures that admit women as members.

The Freemasons that form the National Grand Lodge of Romania, strongly declare their faith in the Grand architect of the Universe, in His power and revealing will, in the immortality of the soul, in the Constitution, a faith that is deeply traditional, strict preserver of the unmovable Landmarks.

The three Great Lights of Universal Freemasonry: the Book of Sacred law (the Bible, Torah, Curran or Zend Avest accordingly to each case) lays open, the Square and the Compass are fully honored, laid in sight during the Works that take place in the Lodges from the Obedience of the National Grand Lodge of Romania.

At the Orient are the three Great Sacred Symbols: the Eye of God in the Sacred Triangle, the Sun and the Moon on each side of it, patronizing from the Orient the rows of Brothers which are correspondent to the two fundamental columns "J" and "B".

At the National Grand Lodge of Romania, on the wall correspondent to the position of the Sun, towards the Orient, it is hoisted the flag of the National Grand Lodge of Romania and on the wall correspondent to the Moon it is hoisted the flag of Romania.

In a grave and sacred manner, any initiated into Freemasonry will take an oath with his left hand and his eyes altogether laid on the opened Book of the Sacred Law, on the Square and Compass, in order to vibrate in the harmony between the word and the sacred character of the divine.

The National Grand Loge of Romania has full Masonic sovereignty on the entire Romanian territory, on the Lodges from its Guidance. It is self-governed, having absolute power over the Work of the three degrees: Disciple, Companion and Master.

The National Grand Lodge of Romania does not share its authority with any other Masonic or laic power over the three already mentioned degrees and any other high official from another Rite cannot have in parallel offices and positions in the Grand Council of the National Grand Lodge of Romania.

The National Grand Lodge of Romania authorizes the functioning of the universally accepted Rites of perfection on the territory governed by it.

The National Grand Lodge of Romania and the Lodges under its Obedience forbid political, religious or business conversations during its Ritual Meetings.
