Nebraska/US – David City Masonic Hall preparing for cornerstone dedication

12.09.2024
(by Jared Barton, The Columbus Telegram, August 12, 2024)

In freemasonry, Psalm 133 is read in first-degree ceremonies, instructing the reader to “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” Thanks to the recent completion of work on Fidelity Lodge #51’s new space, members of the public can do just that with them. Around three years ago, Lodge Master Mike Jones said, they began the renovation and move process from 4th Avenue and E Street to 343 E St. A big change, Jones said, is that now their building is at ground level. “We used to own a building on the North side of the square, BJ’s Hardware’s upper story, next to Roper’s. Then Marty Roper bought it from us. When we owned it, we had the upstairs area, we probably owned it for 60-70 years,” Jones said. The renovations began years ago on the old Banner-Press office, Jones said, with Chuck Oborny at the helm working to … read more:

11.09.2024
(by Joséphine Dedet, The Africa Report, September 7, 2024)

African Masons have been strengthening their ties with their Turkish brothers via lodge twinning and reciprocal visits. Here’s our report from Istanbul’s ‘holiest of holy places’. On the evening of 10 May, the Grand Lodge of Turkiye – the country’s largest confederation, with 18,000 members – welcomed its brothers to the annual General Assembly at its headquarters, in Istanbul’s Pera district. Two African Grand Masters made the trip: business lawyer Sylvère Koyo leading the Côte d’Ivoire delegation and Alassane Koné, head of Niger’s delegation. Others in attendance included Ali Traoré, the Grand Lodge of Burkina Faso’s number two, as well as respective members of the Grand Lodges of Congo and Mali’s board of directors, Hilarion Bounsana and Aliou Touré… read more:
